What is a polygraph test?

A polygraph test is a semi scientific procedure in order to verify the truthfulness of a person regarding certain questions he or she is asked.
The procedure is divided into three parts:
Pre-test interview - this part is dedicated to explain to the examinee how the system works. The examiner will familiarize the examinee with the questions he or she will be asked during the examination.
Data Collection - the examiner will attach four sensors to the examinee over the clothes (a chest sensor and abdominal sensor two finger electrode and a cardiovascular cuff). After attaching the sensors the examiner will collect 2 to 4 charts of physiological data. The examinee must sit still without any movement as unobserved movement can show a reaction which can be interpreted as a lie.
Conclusion - After collecting the data the examiner will evaluate the charts and determine the truthfulness of the examinee.

Can the test harm the examinee?

A polygraph test can not affect a person's health! If  you  have any health problems inform the examiner.

How long does it take?

Allow yourself at least two hours for the test.  Arrive at the polygraph laboratory at least 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

The test itself can take between 60 and 90 minutes and in some cases even more.

There examiner cannot  take any shortcuts, since doing so might affect the accuracy of the result.

In case you don’t have the required amount of time for a proper test to be conducted, ask for the test to be re-scheduled.
